Pidgin 2.6.1 Released

Windows / Mac / Linux: Pidgin has long been an easy way to use a lot of different chat on your desktop. With its 2.6 release, Pidgin finally capturing video, audio, and file transfer offers Google Talk, Yahoo, and others.

The big news in version 2.6, and in setting an error 2.6.1 as it is written-the video and voice chat support for XMPP, known mainly as the Jabber / Google Talk protocol. Unfortunately, that video and audio chat does not work on Windows at the time (kind of a goal to lose, right?), But the team said Pidgin coming soon. In other areas, improving their Pidgin Yahoo file transfer of powers, the gross added theming support, and a host of other changes.

Pdigin release 2.6.1 is available as a download source for the moment, but pre-compiled versions for Windows, Linux and Mac (if not in the camp of Adium) should be deployed shortly. Update: Ubuntu Linux and Debian users can capture the pre-compiled packages GetDeb. It's a free download.
